Time
flies, doesn't it?! Everybody was busy celebrating including myself
therefore, I will keep this one short and sweet! It is important at this
point to go back a little on what we have learnt to refresh our memory.

10 Ways to Start 2009 on a Vocally Positive Note
10) Expect complete silence during direct teaching. Don't raise the volume of your voice unnecessarily.
9) Warm-up your voice daily.
8) Keep your vocal cords hydrated by drinking lots of water.
7) Watch your stature. Stand up straight!
6) Breathe deeply always from the bottom up of your lungs.
5) Engage your diaphragm to support your breath and consequently your voice.
4) Speak and sing in "the mask".
3) Relax!
2) Be kind to yourself! Allow mistakes and persevere.

New Year's Resolutions
If
you are still experiencing problems with your speaking or singing

choose an area of focus that you feel might be particularly pertinent
to you. Make time into your schedule to practice exercises that
will develop a specific ability or take time to reflect daily
about how you have been handling your challenges. With a little
conviction and consistency nothing is out of reach. You can
do it!

Happy 2009!
I wish all of you and your families the very best. Thank you so
much for taking the time to read this newsletter and sending me your
